This policy covers codexacoin.com, the CodexaCoin web wallet, the CodexaCoin Android app, the CodexaCoin desktop wallets (macOS, Windows, Linux), the block explorer, and the staking gateway API that some of those apps talk to (together, the "Services"), operated by the CodexaCoin project ("we", "us"). It does not cover third-party sites we link to (including GitHub).
Most of what CodexaCoin is doesn't touch us at all. The desktop, mobile, and web wallets generate your recovery phrase and private keys entirely on your own device; we never see them, never store them, and cannot recover them for you if you lose them. We collect account data (email, self-attested identity fields) only if you choose to create an account for the custodial staking pool. We don't use cookies. We don't use any third-party analytics or advertising trackers, anywhere, in any product.
Your wallet's recovery phrase (mnemonic) and private keys are generated and stored only on your own device — in your OS Keychain/Keystore on desktop and mobile, or in your browser's local storage for the web wallet. None of this is transmitted to us, ever, for any wallet operation except the one exception below (custodial pool deposits). If you lose your recovery phrase, we have no way to help you recover funds held in a self-custody wallet — see the Risk Disclosure.
Creating an account (required only for the custodial staking pool, referral program, and push notifications — never for basic send/receive/staking-status use of any wallet) collects:
CodexaCoin is a public blockchain. Any address you use, any amount you send or receive, and the fact that a transaction happened are permanently and publicly visible on the chain and on the block explorer, to anyone, forever — that's inherent to how the technology works, not a choice we make. Addresses aren't directly tied to your name unless something else (like this account data) links them. Deleting your account here does not and cannot remove anything from the blockchain itself.
Like any web service, our servers log standard connection metadata (IP address, timestamp, requested endpoint) for security and abuse prevention (e.g. rate-limiting login and signup attempts). We do not use this for tracking, profiling, or advertising, and we don't share it with any third party except as required by law.
We do not use cookies anywhere on codexacoin.com or in the web wallet. The
web wallet uses your browser's localStorage to store your
wallet data (recovery phrase, settings) and sessionStorage for
your staking-account login session — both stay on your device and are
never transmitted except when you explicitly take an action (like
submitting a send transaction or logging in).
We don't sell or rent your data. We don't use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking pixels — check the source code yourself, it's public. Data may be disclosed if legally compelled (e.g. a valid court order), or to protect the security and integrity of the Services (e.g. investigating fraud or abuse).
Account data is retained for as long as your account exists. We haven't yet formalized an automatic deletion schedule for closed accounts — if you want your off-chain account data deleted, email support@codexacoin.com and we'll do it manually. Blockchain transaction data cannot be deleted by us or anyone, for the reason in section 4.
Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. ID numbers submitted at signup are encrypted at rest. Session authentication uses signed, time-limited tokens. That said, no system is perfectly secure, and this project has not undergone a formal third-party security audit — see the honesty section on the homepage and the Risk Disclosure for what that means in practice.
The Services are not directed at, and are not intended to be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
You can request a copy of the off-chain account data we hold about you, or request its deletion (subject to section 8's blockchain limitation and any legal retention requirements), by emailing support@codexacoin.com.
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted on the homepage or in the app where practical.
